Girl Scout Branding

Brand Resources

The Girl Scout brand is not just a logo—it is a complete design system that works together to create a distinctive look and feel.

EVERYONE in Girl Scouting has a role in protecting our name, our image, and our brand.

Below are the official brand guidelines from Girl Scouts of the USA. Use these as your main resource for creating materials that reflect our shared voice and style. Our brand is more than a logo; it is a system of elements that work together to give all our communications a unique look. Whether you are a service unit team member, troop leader, or parent/caregiver helping your Girl Scout, these guidelines will help you create flyers, presentations, apparel, and more that represent Girl Scouts in a consistent and appropriate way. By following these standards, you help protect and strengthen our brand and show the world what Girl Scouts stand for: leadership, sisterhood, and belonging in every interaction.

We will be updating these guidelines with more information as needed. Please check back for the most up-to-date resources. Thank you for being a champion for Girl Scouts!

Girl Scout Trefoil toggle arrow

Trefoil Usage Guidelines

The Trefoil will play the most important role as the primary logo for Girl Scouts. It is the single visual element that has been with Girl Scouts throughout our entire history. While its form has varied over the years, the essence of its shape has remained the same.
Minimum Size

To maintain the integrity of the shape, the Trefoil should never be used smaller than 32px digitally or 0.125 inches in print

Color

The Trefoil may be displayed in any of the brand colors.

Don’ts:

  • Do not use an older version of the Trefoil or Girl Scout logo.
  • Don't use more than one Trefoil in the same application. The council servicemark/logo does not count toward this application.
  • The trefoil should never be altered; use it as is!
    • Don't crop or rotate it.
    • Do not put photos inside the trefoil shape.
    • Don't use it as a pattern
    • Don't add effects to it or outline it.
    • Don't put text inside, next to, or around the trefoil.
    • Don't crowd the trefoil; it should have clear space (the height of the top clover of the trefoil you are using on all four sides).
    • Don't use it to replace a typographic character (letter "o") or as a bullet.
Council Logo & Servicemark toggle arrow

Logo/Servicemark Usage Guidelines

The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County servicemark is the final form of our logo, with all its elements. It should not be reassembled or reproportioned. Only GSUSA can create servicemarks/lockups.
Size

To maintain the integrity of the forms and ensure strong brand presence, the servicemark should never be used smaller than 113px for screens or 0.375 inches in print.

Color

Whenever possible, the text should be Black and the Girl Scout Trefoil should be kept Green. If placed on a darker background, the Trefoil should stay Green and all text should become White. One-color marks are a last resort to be used only when budgets so demand.

Members should always use the servicemark that includes the council's name.

If you need a larger logo for printing OR your vendor is requesting a high-res vector file, please contact us at customercare@gssc.us to request the file.

Girl Scout Colors and Font toggle arrow

Brand Colors

Girl Scout Green

Green is one of our greatest equities. It should be used prominently in external communications, especially for the Trefoil. Always consider the role of green when creating external communications.

Color Palette

This expanded set of colors offers a broad range of options to achieve various moods and tones when designing for different audiences. Girl Scout Green should still be your predominant color.

The Don'ts

  • Don’t create new colors.
  • Don’t fake metallics.
  • Avoid black backgrounds.
  • Don’t use gradients.

Font Usage

Girl Scouts, troops, and volunteers should use Palatino Linotype or Helvetica as the standard font for any resources they create. Your informational paragraphs should be the color black to maintain readability.

The Don'ts

  • Don't use more than three fonts in one flyer.
  • Don't size text any smaller than 10 pt.

Our brand voice is encouraging, thoughtful, welcoming, lively. Our brand voice is not perfect, flashy, elite or rehearsed.
