Located on nearly 95 acres in Bayport, NY, right on the scenic San Souci Lakes, Camp Edey offers something for everyone! Whether you're staying in one of our rustic Tent-a-Low sites, pitching your own tent, or relaxing in our comfort lodging, there are accommodations to suit all levels of camping experience.

Each site has access to nearby restrooms and water, while our comfort lodging includes kitchens and bathrooms for added convenience. Camp Edey boasts beautiful hiking trails, serene lake activities, and countless opportunities for adventure. Groups can plan their own activities or arrange for exciting programs like archery, pedal boating, craft-making, and more! We also offer day passes for troops and groups who want to enjoy Camp Edey without an overnight stay.

Lodging, Capacities & Rates

Wilderness Lodging (available September-Veterans’ Day and mid-April through May) toggle arrow

Step into the heart of nature with our Wilderness Lodging options, offering a variety of rustic accommodations for those who want to embrace the great outdoors. Choose the experience that suits your adventure style:

Tents: Interested in tent camping? Groups are welcome to reserve Pixie Field per night and bring their own tents. Pixie Field accommodates up to four tents (6 people maximum per tent) and offers exclusive use of this designated tent camping area.

Tent-a-Lows: A step up from traditional tent camping, Tent-a-Lows are semi-permanent canvas structures built on wooden platforms, providing extra stability and protection from the elements. These cozy shelters are perfect for campers who want a rustic experience without the hassle of pitching their own tent. While Tent-a-Lows don’t have electricity, heat, or running water, nearby facilities ensure easy access to bathrooms and showers, making them a comfortable yet simple option for your outdoor getaway.

Long Houses: For larger groups, these wooden structures offer a unique blend of rustic charm and basic comforts. Each long house includes 5 bunk beds + 2 twin beds (accommodating up to 12 people), electricity, and overhead fans to keep the air circulating. While there’s no heat, air conditioning, or running water inside, bathrooms and showers are just a short walk away.

All Wilderness Lodging includes access to a fire pit and a kitchen shelter, which is a covered, open-air structure designed to make outdoor cooking convenient and enjoyable. Equipped with picnic tables, the kitchen shelter is perfect for group meals and activities

For those who prefer their outdoor adventure with a touch of modern convenience, our comfort lodging is the way to go. These cozy buildings provide all the comforts of home, including heat, electricity, bathrooms with showers, fully equipped kitchens, and spacious common areas. Perfect for groups or families looking for a warm and welcoming retreat, comfort lodging ensures your stay is as relaxing as it is memorable, no matter the season.

Lakeview Lodge

Once the camp’s Ranger's Residence, Lakeview Lodge is now a comfortable retreat for troop camping. This spacious building sleeps up to 20 people, featuring four bedrooms with bunk beds (one on the first floor and three on the second). It includes two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a program space. Climate-controlled for year-round comfort, the lodge also boasts a screened-in porch and a private backyard fire pit for cozy evenings.

Mae K Lodge

Tucked away just off the main camp, Mae Kae Lodge is a quaint cottage perfect for smaller groups. It sleeps up to 12 in one large living area with bunk beds and includes a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a small room for storage. Climate-controlled for convenience, it also offers a charming front porch, a fire circle, and picnic tables for outdoor enjoyment.

Troop House

Located in the heart of main camp, the Troop House offers a “sleepover” style experience with room for 12 guests. The spacious, single-room layout includes mattresses that can be arranged on the floor for flexible sleeping arrangements. It features a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and climate control for comfort. Outside, guests can enjoy a back patio, a fire pit, and picnic tables for group activities.

Archery

Sharpen your skills with instruction from a USA Archery-certified instructor.

Cost: $160 per 90-minute session (up to 20 girls) / increases to $200 as of 9/1/2026
Requirements: Open to 2nd-year Brownies and above

Boating

Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on one of Camp Edey’s scenic San Souci lakes.

Cost: $200 per 2-hour session / increases to $250 as of 9/1/2026
Requirements: Open to all levels (Daisies require an adult per boat)

With an encampment, your group takes over all the Tent-a-Low and tent sites, creating a true camping community in the heart of nature. This package provides a great way to bond, explore, and enjoy the camp's beautiful surroundings.

Archery & Boating: Take your encampment to the next level with exciting outdoor activities. Please note these depend on staff availability and require advanced booking.
Kid Archery: For our younger scouts who want to participate in archery. A blow-up archery game that is fun for all ages!
Fun & Games: Field games and giant games are available at camp.
Portable BBQ: Need extra cooking space? Rent a portable BBQ right at camp!

Volunteer Requirements:

Participating troops must adhere to the GSSC Trip Policy for proper adult coverage and submit a Day & Extended Night Trip Approval Request Form.
A minimum of two troop leaders for each participating troop must have an active Level 2 Troop Camping Certification.
Daisy Troops: Girls may only participate in an encampment with a parent/caregiver chaperone. Chaperoning adults are encouraged but not required to hold an active membership to participate.

Cost: $500 (base fee for two nights in all Tent-a-Low and tent sites). $650 as of 9/1/2026. Optional add-ons are priced separately.

Troop Camp Certification (Pre-Requisite) *Updated 8/27* toggle arrow

As of Winter 2027, all troop bookings at Camp Edey will require two troop leaders to complete the following council-led trainings:

GSSC Introduction to Troop Camping-Level 1 Certification (online via gsLearn) and the GSSC Introduction to Troop Camping-Level 2 Certification (in person-practical session). Completion of both of these trainings will result in a Level 2 Troop Camping Certification, which is valid for three years.

These trainings prepare volunteers for their first troop camping experience and cover outdoor progression, outdoor cooking, fire building and safety, knot tying, outdoor first aid, knife safety, and planning girl-led experiences.

Practical Sessions are held rain or shine at Camp Edey and cost $40 per adult volunteer. Troop funds may be used for registration. Space is limited.

Planning your overnight adventure at Camp Edey is simple! Start by filling out our Camping Interest Form, and our team will reach out to you with all the details, including availability, pricing, and answers to any questions you may have.

Troops are required to adhere to council trip policies and submit the Day & Extended Trip Approval Request Form prior to securing their booking.

Set on 95 wooded acres in Bayport, Camp Edey offers registered Girl Scout troops and members a peaceful, unplugged place to spend the day together, no overnight packing required. Troops plan and lead their own activities, and optional programs like archery or boating can be added when available.

Day passes are $12 per person (Registered Girl Scout members only.) and include access from sunrise to sunset to:

Miles of wooded hiking trails
San Souci Lake dock & shoreline (fishing allowed, troops provide bait & tackle, bait must be approved by GSSC)
Two gaga ball pits
Basketball court
Fire pits for troop use
Picnic tables throughout camp
Restrooms and water access

Optional staffed programs like archery and boating may be available for an additional fee, depending on scheduling.

Camp Edey Day Passes are available during school holidays & weekends, September 1 - December 1 & March 20 - June 1.
Service Unit Encampments, GSSC-sponsored events, and other factors may affect day pass availability.
