Meet Our Facilitators

Kerri Ingwersen

I work closely with schools, staff, and volunteers to create engaging, meaningful Girl Scout experiences for girls in school-based programs.

I’m also a Girl Scout mom, volunteer, and lifelong supporter of the Girl Scout mission. As a parent, I understand how important it is for families to feel informed and confident about the programs their girls are part of.

My focus is on building fun, hands-on experiences that support confidence, creativity, STEM learning, and social-emotional growth. My goal is for every girl to feel supported, included, and excited to participate in Girl Scouting.

Carliana

You can call me Carli too! Growing up, I was a Girl Scout myself & earned my Gold Award! Outside of facilitating, I’m also an actress, singer/songwriter & dancer. My favorite Girl Scout Cookie is probably Samoas (but frozen Thin Mints are also top tier).

Showing up for the girls & seeing them take in every new friendship & lesson, knowing these moments genuinely impact them for a lifetime, is super fulfilling to me. I've been actively working with children since I could volunteer, at around 10 years old. I've been professionally working with ages 1-16 for about 6 years now!

Lillian

I love drawing and doing arts & crafts. I previously taught art and design in college, and I still carry that same joy of learning and creativity into everything I do. My favorite Girl Scout Cookie is Thin Mints.

Recently, during the program, in the cafeteria, our little airplanes finally took flight, and the girls cheered and jumped with joy. In that moment, two girls walked over hand in hand and asked me if they could join us too. It reminded me how meaningful it is to share that happiness and confidence with more girls, and how deeply that work makes me happy.

Stephanie

I have 4 children, ages 8, 7, 6, and 4. My favorite Girl Scout Cookie was the S'mores. I was sad to see it go. I love working with the girls simply because I enjoy being around kids and creating enriching experiences for them. It keeps me youthful. I am a troop leader to Daisies (K/1) in Copiague. My older daughter is a second-year Brownie. Some fun facts about me: I'm an avid moviegoer. I see just about every movie in theaters. I'm also really into weight lifting.

Antoinette

My nickname is Mickey. Fun fact about me: I love to travel, love community outings, and love music. Favorites cookie is Samoas. I love working with the girls because they love working as a team, they are happy and love being around them, always smiling and very talkative. I'm also a co-leader in Brentwood. I'm a mother of 4 …17, 16, 12, and 2-year-olds. My 12-year-old is part of our troop.

Sonia

I retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 33 years of service, so this is my first ‘new’ employer since college! I enjoy seeing smiles when the girls are learning by having fun. Both of my sons were Boy Scouts, in which I was very involved, so I understand the impact of all scouting programs. My favorite is the Tagalong.

Melissa

I love hands-on projects and helping girls explore their creativity in fun, meaningful ways. I believe art is a powerful tool for building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and letting each girl shine. A successful troop meeting to me is one where the girls feel supported, proud of their ideas, and free to be themselves. My favorite cookies are Adventurefuls!

Maddison

I really love working with the girls because I get to meet them where they are at, celebrate what makes each one of them unique, make real connections, and have SO much fun. When I am not having a blast in Girl Scouts, you can usually find me nose-deep in a book, glued to a video game, or creating a new type of dish or dessert for my family to try! My favorite Girl Scout cookies are Tagalongs or Thin Mints (especially straight from the freezer!)

Dawn

I come to the Girl Scouts after 17 years in Non-Profit teaching children financial literacy and work readiness. I love working with the girls, seeing light bulbs, smiles, and watching confidence grow! I am a huge sports fan and my whole family (2 “children”, 26 and 28) is obsessive with our NY Mets. My favorite cookie is the Samoas!

Chelsea

I was a Girl Scout growing up until I reached Juniors. Now I can’t wait for my daughter to be old enough to join Girl Scouts, too! My favorite cookie is Thin Mints. I love working with the girls because they always bring positive energy and remind me not to sweat the small things—you can have fun with your friends anytime, anywhere! I love reading, traveling, and finding new places to explore with my family.

Maria

I am 40 years old. I have two children. My son is 17, and my daughter is 10. I love being a mom! A fun fact about me is that I love to crochet and I love to travel. My favorite Girl Scout cookie is the Samoas, yum! What I love most about working with girls is that I get to be around wonderful, intelligent girls who are enthusiastic and excited to learn.

Lisa

I live in East Northport. I was a Girl Scout (made it to Jrs) many moons ago and was a co-leader for my older daughter's troop for about 5 years. My younger daughter was also a Girl Scout, and now my 5-year-old granddaughter is a Daisy in this program at Fort Salonga, and I'm thrilled I get to be her in-school leader. I love working with all the girls in this amazing program. I love their enthusiasm, their smiles, and their joyfulness!

Now retired, I was a marketing/feature writer for a number of magazines and a community newspaper, and worked as a freelance writer for the past few years. I am a voracious reader (my mom always said the ceiling could fall down on me and I would continue to read my book)...and my favorite cookie is and has always been Tagalongs!

Michelle

I was never a Girl Scout growing up, so I made it a point to have 2 girls continuing with the program since kindergarten. I wrote a poetry book in high school and had it published with the proceeds of my sweet 16. Also, I created a unique line of original artwork and poetry greeting cards in college. My favorite Girl Scout cookie: Toffee-tastic

This is my 8th school year, so I absolutely enjoy being a part of the village it takes for girls to grow and thrive, in addition to welcoming new sisters... It's truly rewarding to return to a school and see the excitement on their faces and experience them truly living by our GS law with grateful hearts. I am happy to help at all times and looking forward to an amazing year!

Kristine

I'm a mother of 2 girls, ages 12 and 8. I lead both of their troop,s and I am heavily involved with Girl Scouts outside of being a facilitator! I love watching the girls' faces light up every time they see me walk into the building, knowing something fun is going to happen! My favorite cookie is the somoas!

Theresa

I worked in the dental field for over 30 years—retired 4 years ago. I have 3 children and 4 granddaughters. My husband and I enjoy traveling, and I love to read. I was a Girl Scout many years ago, and I was a troop leader for my younger daughter. My favorite cookie is Thin Mints out of the freezer.  I enjoy working with girls; their enthusiasm is so much fun, and they are so sweet.

Annette

I am a mom of 3 adult children who were all part of the scouting program. For 18 years, I had the privilege of leading my two daughters’ Girl Scout troop. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and watched them grow into strong and confident young women—that’s what Girl Scouts is all about.

Professionally, I worked in the FinTech industry as a technical program manager. Currently, I’m an independent consultant. A couple of fun facts about me: I’m an avid traveler who loves exploring different cultures and cuisines. When I’m not traveling, I find solace in relaxing, reading a good book, or spending time outdoors with my family and friends—biking, hiking, playing pickleball, or attending beach concerts. My favorite cookies are Thin Mints, but unfortunately, I can no longer indulge in them.

The best part about being a Program Facilitator is watching the girls’ faces light up with joy when they engage in fun activities or make new discoveries. They’re incredibly creative and love sharing their ideas. Their enthusiasm is truly contagious.

Jessica

I’m a mom of two, and my daughter has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten. I was a Girl Scout myself growing up, so being part of this program feels extra meaningful to me. Fun facts about me are that I love reading, art, and making everyday moments creative and fun, whether it’s crafts, conversations, or helping kids feel right at home. My favorite Girl Scout Cookie is the Tagalong, easily a top-tier cookie in my house!

What I love most about working with the girls is getting to cheer them on, help them feel seen and celebrated, and watch their confidence bloom when they try something new. I’m passionate about helping them live out the Girl Scout Law, which includes important traits like being honest and fair, considerate and kind, using their resources wisely, showing courage, being a sister to every Girl Scout, and making the world a little better every day. Getting to be present with them in the middle of their school day also encourages me to lead by example, and that’s an honor I don’t take lightly!

Erin

I love to dance, sing, and act silly. I love working with my Girl Scouts in school because all the girls are as excited as I am to come to our meetings!  We have the best time as we go over the promise and talk about things that are important to us.  When I was in Elementary School, my mom was my troop leader, and Girl Scouts was something I always looked forward to.  It was a fun atmosphere to gather with my friends and be creative. Creating a fun, positive atmosphere is what I am hoping to create for all the girls in my troop this year. My favorite cookie is the Thin Mints!!!

Linda

I like to cook, entertain, and watch sports - especially college sports. I’m originally from the Midwest and, after college, lived in six different states before finally finding my way to Long Island. In my two previous jobs, I worked with students, and I truly enjoy working with the Girl Scouts - sharing their excitement for projects, teamwork, and all the funny things they say along the way. My daughter lives in Washington, DC, so I love visiting her and exploring the city. My favorite Girl Scout cookie is the Samoa!

Elle

I'm a PhD Candidate in Genetics & Genomics at NC State University. This is my second school year of being involved with Girl Scouts. I wanted to be a Girl Scout growing up, but I wasn't able to, so I'm excited to bring Girl Scouts programming to girls in school. When I'm not working on schoolwork, I like to spend time with my family, including one dog and two cats. My favorite Girl Scout cCokie is Samoas!

Abby

I was a Girl Scout from kindergarten all the way until senior year, and continued as a facilitator going into college. I'm a student at St Joseph’s University, where I’m a child study major. My favorite cookie is Samoa,s and I love making connections with all of the girls I work with!

Sofia

You can call me Sof or Sofi. I’m a college student currently working towards my bachelor’s degree. I love reading the Bible and listening to stories - especially hearing about people’s experiences growing up. Oh, and I also love iced coffee, no matter the temperature!

I really enjoy staying organized and having things planned ahead of time. I absolutely love working with kids, especially my almost three-year-old niece. Their creativity, honesty, and joy inspire me so much and remind me to truly enjoy each day.

I haven’t tried any Girl Scout cookies yet (I know!), but I definitely have a sweet tooth. I’m from Colombia, and I enjoy listening to worship music, going to church, and spending quality time with my family. I am excited about this year, and I will be happy to help at all times!
