It’s time to lead the way at your favorite state parks and help create a better planet for all! How?
Between September 13th and 14th, sign up for one of our amazing FREE Girl Scouts Love State Parks programs where you can participate in a self-guided tour, beach cleanups, and a gardening project. You can also explore state parks with your family on your own and use the GSUSA activity sheet to help you unlock the patch.
Some activities may have a minimum age and parking fees. Sign up early as programs have limited spots available. All attendees must register, including adults.
Given the high temperatures, before you head out, remember to be safe by bringing water, sunscreen, and a hat, and using the buddy system during your outdoor activities. Pictures below are for illustrative purposes and may not represent the exact activity or park location.

Garden Service Project @ Bayard Cutting Arboretum—Still Spots Left!
For girls ages 10 & up: Come by to assist the farm staff with an ongoing garden service project. Help identify perennial plants/herbs to keep for next year while removing the weeds and discarding produce from the Community Supported Agriculture Farm (CSA).

- Place: Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Hwy, Great River, NY 11739
- This is a FREE event. Both adults and children must be registered to attend—a completed form per person. Patch is not included. Please note there is an $8.00 parking fee.
- Please bring a light snack, water, and garden gloves (if you have them). Wear closed-toe shoes and long sleeves/pants to protect from the sun and ticks.
- Parent/Caregiver must attend to sign the volunteer agreement form.
Beach Cleanup @ Heckscher State Park
Discover important waste disposal practices on Long Island and help us keep our beach beautiful and pristine. Your participation will make a real difference!

- This is a FREE event. All ages are welcome. Both adults and children must be registered to attend—a completed form per person. Patch is not included.
Guided Nature Walk @ Hallock State Park
Join us for a guided nature walk through the scenic trails! Explore the park's rich history and discover the diverse flora and fauna. We’ll conclude with a relaxing stroll on the beach.
