the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory DNA Learning Center!
Build STEM skills by extracting real DNA from wheat germ, learn how it becomes visible without the use of a microscope, and transform it into a keepsake necklace. Then, step into the role of a scientist to solve a real historical mystery from the early 1900s by interpreting forensic evidence. Get ready to experiment like a scientist, investigate like a detective, and uncover the secret hidden in cells!
Brownies will earn their STEM Career Exploration badge.
Juniors will earn their Detective badge.
Cadettes will earn their STEM Career Exploration badge.
This is a drop-off event. Please pack a bagged lunch & water bottle!
