Discovery World STEM + Arts Center is girl-centric, visually stunning, and a place for girls to feel comfortable and be themselves. It offers girls a first-rate, hands-on approach to exploring a whole new world through experiments and demonstrations, special guest presentations, and field trips.
This 4,500 square-foot facility, located in the Pine Barrens at Camp Sobaco in Yaphank, offers its unique services not only to Girl Scouts, but to school districts, youth agencies, and underserved populations throughout Suffolk County.
A myriad of amenities to promote hands-on science and technology education include a computer lab, a Smart Board touch-screen, a microscope exploration station, tactile puzzles and problem-solving games, engineering apparatus, and more. A diverse selection of programs are administered, including environmental science, physics, engineering, chemistry, mathematics, zoology, and meteorology.
