2024 Girl Scout Display Contest: DEADLINE EXTENDED

It's that time of year again that we ask our Girl Scouts to help us design the newest light displays for 'Girl Scout Way' at the Holiday Light Show.
This year's theme is: "What is Your Favorite Part of Girl Scouts?"
Any registered Girl Scout in Suffolk County for the 2025 Membership Year is eligible to enter our contest. Submit your drawn-out design as an individual Girl Scout or with your troop. 5 designs will be chosen and built for our show (Coming this November). *DEADLINE EXTENDED: The contest is open from now to Sunday, July 22nd by 5:00 PM.*
Every contest participant will receive a special FUN patch. One entry per Girl Scout or Troop. Winners will be contacted and announced in early August.
Maybe your design is about a new skill you learned with your troop, or how you've given back to your community or the life-long friendships you've made. It's up to your imagination!
Winners will receive:
- FREE one-night admission to the show to see your display.
- A GSSC Holiday Light Show Event Patch.
- A photo opportunity at Camp Edey with your built display.
- And select media opportunities, such as but not guaranteed, opening night, media, interviews, video recording, and social media posts.
Contest Rules:
- Must be a registered Girl Scout for the 2025 year.
- Your design should be consistent with the Girl Scout mission and ideals; Entries using copyrighted characters or designs will not be considered.
- Our displays are built using rope lighting or bulbs on wooden frames. Your ideas should be both grand in scale and streamlined in design—the simpler the better!
- All entries must be submitted no later than Sunday, July 14th, by 11:59 PM.
