There are so many reasons to be a Girl Scout. Girl Scouts promotes courage, confidence, and character and helps girls meet new friends and gain new experiences. In Girl Scouts, girls learn leadership, social, and entrepreneurial skills to help them dream big and succeed. Girl Scouts support their community and do lasting take actions projects that make a difference. Girl Scouts can change the world. But graduating from high school and turning 18 doesn’t mean an end to the adventures.

Did you know Women’s History Month started as “Women’s History Week,” a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California? Organizers from the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women planned and executed a “Women’s History Week” celebration in 1978. Did you know that there are 8 different kinds of love? In Ancient Greece they had 8 words for the many types of love we experience in our lifetime. February naturally makes people think about romantic love, or “eros”. But there’s also ‘philia’ for deep friendship love, ‘storge’ for the familiar love between parents and children or childhood friends, and ‘philautia’ or “self-love”.
