The 5 Skills

Goal SettingA skill that helps girls manage their school work, college
projects, and deadlines. Girls get to set troop and personal goals, and
create a plan to reach those goals.

Decision MakingA skill that furthers a girl’s critical thinking and
problem solving. Girls learn what their cookie rebates can do for their
troop, and then help to decide how the cookie money will be spent.

Money ManagementA very practical skill that girls will use throughout
their lives. Financial literacy is key to a girl’s future. Girl Scouts take
orders, handle money, and learn multiplication skills.

People SkillsThe skills that help girls form healthy relationships and
conflict resolution. A Girl Scout learns how to talk with, listen to and work
with all kinds of people when she sells cookies.

Business EthicsDevelop a girl who is honest, trustworthy and reliable.
A Girl Scout is honest and responsible throughout the cookie sale.
