GSSC Partners with EGC Group for Volunteer Recruitment Media Strategy
Hundreds of girls are placed on waiting lists to join Girl Scouts of Suffolk County because there are not enough adult volunteers to lead troops. The Long Island-based advertising agency, The EGC Group, has partnered with Girl Scouts of Suffolk County to develop a strategy to address the shortage of volunteers.
The EGC Group participates annually in CreateAthon, a 24-hour blitz of creativity in which the agency generates free marketing strategies to three deserving non-profit organizations. This year, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County applied and was chosen by Facebook fans as one of the three non-profits.
During this event, the professionals at EGC worked around the clock to provide creative deliverables to the three organizations. The end result? The EGC team secured a radio and TV spot, developed a prolific social media strategy, an eye-catching print advertisement with the slogan, “Support Our Troops,” and an exciting recruitment video.
Says Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s President & CEO Yvonne Grant, “We had an exciting time working with EGC and we are very happy with the final result.”
