Academy of Innovation - Meeting
For members of Academy of Innovation
Every wonder why look the way you do? You can thank your DNA!
DNA is found in every cell in your body. Most of your cells contain full copu of the DNA instructions for what you look like. This full copy of DNA is called your genome, which is responsible for your hair and eye color, how likely it is that you will get sick if exposed to a cold, and many other things that make you who you are.
Genomes are super tiny, and DNA is difficult to see even with the world's most powerful microscopes. BUT, you can see it if you put together enough copies of your genomes! And that's exactly what we'll be doning! In fact, you will be able to see DNA with your own eyes - no microscope needed!
Once you've got the hang of it, you'll also be extracting and observing DNA from other items such as strawberries. Do you think your DNA will look very different from that of a strawberry? There's only one way to find out!
This meetings will help you prepare for the behind the scene exclusive look at Applied DNA Science, November 30, 3- 4:30/5 pm.
NOTE: You must be a Member of the Academy of Innovation to attend Meetings and Events.
