Event Information

  • Event Information

     

    For Overnight Attendees: 
    • Check-in opens at 3pm on Friday night. One person can check in for your entire group.
    • Check-in opens at 3PM on Friday. One person can check in entire group.
    • Dinner is available from 5:30-7:30pm and Friday activities will run from 5-8pm. Our Campfire Story, Show and Sing-Alone will be at 8pm. Plus watch Mary Poppins Returns! on our outdoor screen afterwards. You are welcome to bring chairs and/or blankets to sit on, but there are also benches and picnic tables close by.
    • Our Girl Scout Shoppe will be open with amazing event merchandise and other fun trinkets, so don’t forget spending money! If you have pre-ordered merchandise, it is now available for pick-up at our Commack Main Office. Don’t have time? We will have it ready for you at our Camporee Girl Scout Shoppe! 
    • We will also have hot pretzels, ice cream, ice pops and drinks for sale if you are still hungry after meals! You are also welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks, but remember, all food must be kept in the trunk of your car so as not to attract any of Camp Edey’s forest friends.
    • Corcls are new this year on Friday night only! Think of a corcl as a round kayak with a paddle, made for single users. Participants must be at least 8 years of age and no more than 200 pounds. Please note: if you are planning on using the corcls, you MUST have a change of clothes because you WILL get wet. Water shoes are also recommended.
    • Camporee is an active day; remember to dress comfortably and bring layers.
    • You will have early access to Saturday activities starting at 9am.
    • Breakfast will be served at JLFC from 7:45-9:30AM
    • Please clean your camping sites by 8:30AM
     
    For Day Pass Attendees:
    • Due to the high volume of attendees, day pass attendees are unable to park onsite. All day pass attendees will be parking at the Islip Grange and taking a shuttle bus to Camp Edey. The Islip Grange is located at 10 Broadway Ave in Sayville. The shuttle bus will begin picking up attendees as early as 9:30am. The last shuttle bus will leave Camp Edey at 3:15pm. 
    • Activities will run from 10am until 3pm, be sure to check your map to help plan your day!
    • Our Girl Scout Shoppe will be open with amazing event merchandise and other fun trinkets, so don’t forget spending money!   • Archery Participants:
    • You must be pre-registered to participate in Archery. No walk-ins.
    • Must be 8 years and older. 
    • Please check the bottom of your ticket for your selected time slot.
    • Please arrive at the archery range at least 10 minutes before your time slot. A staff member will check you in. If you are late, we will do our best to fit you into the time that is left.

    • When is the Camporee?  
      The Camporee is May 17-18, 2019 for Overnight Attendees and May 18, 2019 for those who have purchased Day Passes only.  
    • How much does the Camporee cost?  
      For a Day Pass, it is $10/person and includes all day activities. For the Overnight Experience, it is $49/person and includes the event patch, overnight accommodations, dinner, all day activities, breakfast and lunch.
    • Will lunch be sold at the event? 
      We will have food for sale at the event, but participants are welcome to bring a bag lunch.
    • What food will be sold at the event? 
      We will be selling hot dogs, chips, ice cream, hot pretzels, and water at the event.
    • How much will food cost? 
      Food items will be sold for $1.00-$2.00 per item.
    • Will I need money for anything else at the event?  
      All activities are included in the price, but we recommend bringing additional money for snacks and our Girl Scout Shoppe.
    • Do we have to attend this event as a Troop? 
      This can be attended as a Troop or Individual Girl Scout event.  However, all children require adult coverage.  Children cannot be dropped off at this event.
    • Are siblings or other family members allowed to attend? 
      Friends and family are welcome to purchase Day Passes for the Camporee, but the Overnight Attendees are limited to Registered Girl Scouts and their adult coverage.
    • Where do I park?  
      If you have purchased the Overnight Experience, you will park onsite at Camp Edey.  If you have purchased a Day Pass, you will park locally at the Islip Grange, located at 10 Broadway Ave, Sayville, NY 11782 and will be bused to and from Camp Edey.        
    • If I am staying overnight, how do I know what to bring?  
      For those of you that have purchased tickets for our overnight experience, you will be following the same procedures for our Getaway Weekends.  Click here for more information on packing and procedures.
    • What are some of the activities that will be at the event?  
      Just some of our exciting activities include: Outdoor cooking demonstrations, archery (requires pre-registration), paddle boating, SWAPS, and more!
    • What happens if it rains? 
      This event is rain or shine, we plan on having an amazing time no matter what the weather!
    • Are refunds available for this event? 
      Sorry, no refunds are available for this event.
