NEW Volunteer-in-Training—VIT
Open to Senior Girl Scouts who have completed 9th grade and Ambassador Girl Scouts

Volunteer-in-Training Objectives:

1. Complete Part 1 (VIT Orientation) and
2. Complete Part 2 (VIT Level)—choose level
a. Daisy or Junior
b. Brownie or Cadette
3. Identify a group of younger Girl Scouts (Daisy through Cadette) who you will mentor (non-camping setting )
4. Your VIT project should last approximately 3 – 6 months

PLEASE NOTE: PART 1 MUST BE TAKEN FIRST.

By taking this training you will be prepared to help younger Girl Scouts have "Fun with Purpose". Covered in this training:

Learning what to expect from younger girls as they develop; Managing groups of younger girls in troop and series pathways; Inspiring younger girls to be leaders in their own lives; Engaging girls in the processes: Girl Led, Learning By Doing and Cooperative Learning; Facilitating Journey activities in troops and throughout series; Understanding and applying safety guidelines; Gaining new skills; Planning and facilitating multiple, connected sessions for younger girls; Understanding the role of volunteers and the council systems that support them; Celebrating successes

Girls will receive their VIT pin upon completion of this course.
