Nutrition Information Program at King Kullen

Each Girl Scout will receive this patch.

King Kullen recently launched a nutritional scoring program called NuVal at all of its stores. This scoring system scores most food items contained within the supermarket from 1-100. The higher the score, the better the nutritional value. This system makes it very easy to "trade up" to a more nutritious food item. NuVal provides tools to make nutritious trade-ups throughout the store, and can help children and their parents learn to make healthy decisions
while grocery shopping.

Currently, King Kullen conducts Girl Scout Tours for many troops across Long Island. A tour focused on NuVal could be beneficial, and may also make the girls eligible for badges related to healthy living, healthy eating, nutrition, etc. Girl Scout troops are encouraged to take a tour in any King Kullen store for a tour focused on nutrition. Troops can choose their store, and King Kullen personnel will meet the troop there and conduct a customized NuVal tour.

To schedule a troop tour, please email or call (516) 827-6353.
